A project in Verkilo holds everything for one story world — one or more books plus the Series Bible that tracks the characters, locations, and details shared across them.
Start a new project
From the welcome screen, choose New Project, give it a name, and pick where on your disk to save it. Everything stays in that project folder, which makes it easy to back up or sync with your own tools.
Add a book
A new project starts with one book. Open it, and add your first section — a scene or chapter. Sections are the atoms of your manuscript: you write in them, reorder them, and tag them with the characters and locations they involve.
Write your opening scene
Click into a section and start typing. Verkilo autosaves as you go, so there’s no save button to remember. When you’re ready, add another section and keep going — or jump to the Series Bible to start tracking who’s who.
